The Lake District

The Lake District is one of my absolute favourite places to visit. It holds so many special memories for me because we always visited The Lakes as a family growing up. All of my worries and stresses disappear when I’m here because the surroundings are so beautiful and peaceful. It’s just a case of sticking on your hiking boots, grabbing your waterproof and enjoying the company of whoever you’re with.

When Sarah, one of my best friends, asked me and Erin if we wanted to spend the weekend in Keswick in her uncle’s lodge we jumped at the chance. The lodge was just below Skiddaw and only a 5 minute walk into Keswick.

There are so many different walks and climbs to follow in the Lake District, if you look online or pick up a map I’m sure you will find one suited to you. We walked around Derwent Water and up Cat Bells but whatever you choose the views are always amazing. We only had one little mishap which resulted in me sinking thigh deep into some mud and very nearly losing my camera! Once I got over the trauma of being covered in mud I suppose it gave us something to laugh at. The glass of wine and cheese board was definitely deserved that night!

Have you been to The Lake District or have any recommendations?
